I buy my eggs at a gas station
Good morning world......
Well here it is the day before Thanksgiving in the year 2005. Do I have anything to be thankful for? I certainly do. I have a beautiful lady in my life who cares deeply for me and does everything in her power to make my life easier than it already is. I have my health, I have a good job with benefits. I'm not being whisked off to war by Congress, at least not yet.
I have a plethora of gas stations at which to buy egss from, yes folks you heard right here at 'Whats this world coming to'....You can buy your eggs, haircoloring, bread, birthcontrol devices, chewing gum, toothpaste, socks, string, screen repair material.....at the friggin gas station.
No wonder they want you to use the pay at the pump option when buying just gas at the gas station. They are to busy ringing up the other items I just mentioned to take time to let you pay cash for your gas....at the GAS STATION.
Now....there is another question I have....and maybe someone out there can help me with this. It's about gas station operations. HOW come when it comes to shift changes at the gas stations, you can't buy gas? In the last three months I have been at 2 different gas stations. Owned by two independant companies, in two different geographical locations. Because it was shift change....I had to wait to have the pump turned on before I could buy my gas. How come? Why is this? There were an abundant number of employees standing around looking greatly confused as the shift change took place. Couldn't one of them have turned the pump on? The first instance my girl friend went inside and asked for the pump to be turned on, as we had tried to activate it and it wouldn't activate. I think she asked if they would turn it on before I had a cornary, or something to that effect. I was extremely irritated that I couldn't buy gas at an establishment that was open, operating, and supposed to be selling gas. At least that is what the sign said in front of the place.
The second instance was at another gas station, it was very very early in the morning. This time I went inside because if you were paying in cash you had to pay in advance.( apparently the Iraqi or Middle Eastern owners don't trust us Americans to pay after we fill our tank with their gas), anyway the young woman behind the counter took my money and said it would be a few minutes before I could purchase the gas because it was shift change. I became irrate, advised her to turn the friggin pump on, she did, I pumped my gas and left.
.......at least though, I can buy my eggs if need be at either one of these establishments....as long as it isn't shift change....
Have a great Thanksgiving everyone, and thanks for the comments.........
